Dental Insurance (Dental “Benefit” Plan)

Here at Woodlands Family Dental, our goal is to help remove financial barriers so you can receive the dental care you or your family needs and desires. Many patients have some type of dental insurance. We are insurance friendly, and we are able and pleased to assist you in maximizing your benefits. We will ask you for current insurance information at your first visit, and we may ask you to confirm this info at subsequent visits to remain up-to-date and fully informed to serve you. As a courtesy, we file all claim forms electronically, provide postage for special claims, and we track claims for you. We even have dedicated team members to assist you with any issues you have.

We make every effort (even make a phone call to your insurance company to get a breakdown) to accurately estimate your benefits and out-of-pocket expense prior to your treatment, because we want you to be able to plan accordingly. However, most insurance companies do not give an exact quote (they love playing games and work hard at destroying the Doctor-Patient relationship) until a claim has actually been received and processed. Because of this, the coverage quotes we have from insurance companies are estimates only and not a guarantee of payment. At Woodlands Family Dental we believe in being upfront and honest, however your insurance company does not feel this way. For this reason, we always express full disclosure, and believe that a life of honesty and integrity is more valuable than being deceptive to gain a buck.

On the day services are rendered, you will be asked to pay the portion that we estimate your insurance will not cover, based on what we know about your plan. We then file the claim and the insurance portion will be paid directly to our office after it has been processed. If the insurance payment will be directly deposited or sent to you (Delta Dental does this deceptive practice), then you will be asked for payment in its entirety on the day of services. Additionally, any amount not covered by your insurance will be your responsibility, no surprises.

Please note that any balance remaining on your account after 60 days will incur a 1.5% finance charge. Any account balances that reach 90 days past due will be turned over to American Credit Bureau for collection. Again our goal is to help you attain proper oral health and to remove financial barriers.

No Insurance? No Problem!

Almost 50% of our patients don’t have insurance. We accept cash, money orders, checks, debit and most major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express). We give 5% off all cash and check payments. Additionally, we offer financing options (see below) because we understand that monthly payments can help patients fit the cost of dental treatment into their budgets.

Financing Options

For those who qualify, we pay the interest for a full year through CareCredit®. They are owned by GE and are the largest 3rd Party healthcare financing company out there. With CareCredit you can finance 100% of your dental treatment and there are no upfront costs, no annual fees, and no pre-payment penalties. Both options offer a full range of payment plans, so you can find a plan that works well for you. They also allow for revolving payments with a variable interest rate.
