New Year

New Year Goals, Not Resolutions

Just like many others this month, you are making your New Year resolutions. And, just like many others, some of your resolutions are bound to come and go. Usually, resolutions are not kept because they are talked about and wished for, but when it comes to actually doing them, there are no plans. No structure. No goals.

We’d believe that being successful in these life-changing statements are not really about claiming resolutions as much as they are about setting goals. After all, you can’t hit a target that’s not there. Think about your resolutions and be sure to not only state your desired results, but also break it down into how you will accomplish them. This simple step will help you achieve many more of your goals than just hoping for an outcome.

At Woodlands Family Dental, our goal is to provide the best possible dental experience. We plan on doing that by offering a luxurious and serene office, a welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable staff and the most modern and cutting edge solutions to your dental needs. What are your dental or oral health goals this year and how can we help?

A straighter smile this year?
If you are ready to fix that crooked tooth, or correct your bite, stop in for a no-cost consultation to talk about options like Straight Now Smiles™ or other affordable solutions like clear trays or traditional orthodontics.

Want a whiter smile this year?
You can choose to use whitening toothpastes, whitening strips or other over-the-counter products, but none will be as quick or effective as solutions we can provide at WFD. From veneers to custom crafted bleaching trays and advanced whitening treatments our expert advice and professional recommendations will have you beaming with a bright new smile in no time.

No cavities this year.
That’s an amazing goals that we all should share. The best way to do this is to avoid many of the same things that would prevent you from reaching your overall health and weight goals.

  1. Eat plenty of fruits and veggies. Avoid processed starches and sugars like chips, sweetened cereals and other foods that can get stuck in your teeth and invite cavity forming bacteria.
  2. Quit tobacco. This one really should be your first goal. The health dangers from tobacco are numerous and include many oral health issues. Tooth discoloration, cavities, receding gum lines, mouth and throat cancer are just a few of the deleterious effects tobacco has on your health.
  3. Brush at least twice a day and floss at least once. Brushing in the morning is good for more than just freshening your breath. It also knock out most of the bacteria that has developed in your mouth overnight. Flossing gets all the food particles and other accumulated ‘stuff’ form between your teeth, where traditional toothbrushes simply can not reach.

We believe so much of what makes us healthy starts with our mouth. From what you put into it to how you care for it, your mouth is the gateway to your well-being. Our desire is for you to be healthy and happy in this new year and want to remind you that here at Woodlands Family Dental, Happiness Starts With A Smile!
